Miami Fishing Report 11/08/201  Bonefish Flats fishing

What is the latest?  A hot bite with mixed weather patterns so choosing the correct trip increases the success and enjoyment.  If you find the right formula, the fishing has been very good.  The first cold snap has hit Miami and with it will be the emergence of larger shrimp which will provide a great night Tarpon bite for the next few months until the Tarpon start migrating North again to the Carolinas.

Before the cold snap, it was 91 degrees on Halloween which has been providing excellent Bonefish trips on the outside of Key Biscayne and Elliot Key… Big fish and big numbers are being caught.

If you have the flexibility check out night Tarpon Trips on the plethora of Miami bridges.  If you have day availability only check out the Bonefish, Shark and an improving Barracuda bite.  Speaking of Barracuda, the larger Cuda to 45lbs infiltrate the flats in the winter months and maybe one of the most underrated sport fish in the world.

If the wind is blowing 20-30mph you should ask your guide to arrange a trip to The Everglades.  There are thousands upon thousands of protected areas to fish and incredible wildlife to see.  If you happen to be in Miami and notice the wind is blowing 5-15mph, take advantage of the great Bonefish bite and catch a double-digit office wall photo.

Still want to catch Tarpon on fly?  Make the effort to head to White Water Bay with a guide and head to the middle…

What to ask for?

Offshore:   Sailfish and Wahoo for the next few months.

Inshore:  Tarpon, Bonefish, Mackerel, Trout, and Bluefish

Everglades:  Redfish, Snook, Trout, Tarpon, Mackerel and look for Cobia
